The Secret is The Secret

I shared in my recent post the The Secret To Riches Visualization Tool the vizualitation tool from the movie "The Secret".  That was a bit premature since I hadn't written or talked about the movie yet but I was just so excited to have found the ability to embed the video in the blog.

For some of you, you are already well familiar with the movie "The Secret".  But just in case anyone stumbles across this post and wants to learn the secret of manifesting your dreams you MUST see this movie.  It is...the secret.  You can view it online at the web site www.thesecret.tv for $4.95 or you can purchase the DVD.

Here is the movie trailer.  Please be patient while the video loads below in this empty space below.

The movie is beautifully done.  The web site is beautifully done.  To me, the movie sums up everything that I've ever said or ever wanted to say about prosperity consciousness, manifesting abundance and laws of attraction.

And, coincidentally today I found an article from www.OurUltimateReality.com that beautifully, intelligently, simply and perfectly sums up the whole "thing" about  prosperity consciousness, manifesting abundance and law of attraction in basically several paragraphs. To me this article could be the Cliff Notes to the movie "The Secret" and "Ask And It Is Given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks.  I'm just blown away by author, Adrian Cooper's, ability to explain soooooo much in such a short piece. It's titled:  "The Power of the Subconcious Mind"

If you visit Adrian's web site you can get a free download of 7 chapters from his/her (sorry Adrian if you read this I don't know if your a Mr. or a Ms.) book "Our Ulimate Reality".  The book is 114 chapters long and if The Power of the Subconsious Mind article and the 7 downloadable chapters are any indication of the thought presented in the book then I have a feeling that this book is nothing short of phenomenal.

Be Like A Sunflower!

The second post I wrote when I started the Prosperity Happens blog was titled Why Sunflowers & Seeds?.  I talked about why it was that I chose sunflowers and seeds for the design of the blog and their symbolic significance.  One of the more interesting facts about sunflowers is that they turn their 'heads' to follow the sun.  That's why they're called sunflowers.

The more that I continue to write and the more that I learn about myself I see even more so the symbolism of the sunflower for me... and for prosperity consciousness as well.

Probably the single most important thing that I've learned about prosperity consciousness, laws of attraction and manifesting abundance is the power of joy.  And, interestingly today I came across this wonderful, wonderful quote that revealed more beautiful symbolism between ourselves and sunflowers as well as the important significance of joy:

"Turn your face to the sun and the shadows follow behind you." ~ Maori Proverb

Ooooohhh .... that's good stuff!

Edwene Gaines Quote - Act as if...

This Edwene Gaines quote was posted a few days ago in my post Close Dream - Far Away Dream and I wanted to post it again here on its own because it's such an important quote.

Expressed by Edwene Gains:

"Act as if you have already achieved your goals.  Belive that you receive.  Acting with confidence and faith in yourself and your potential sends a powerful message to the universe.  Accept your success right now.  Don't wait until you have actually achieved results.  Act as if.  ...radiating confidence in your ability to achieve them [your dreams] will catapult you forward in your journey."  ~ Edwene Gaines (taken from her book, The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity)

How Big Is Your Basket?

Basket2 I noticed another very interesting thing when I was writing yesterday's post Close Dream - Far Away Dream.  I wrote a sentence that said, "I pictured how I would carry $100 bucks on me instead of a wad of damp crumpled up dollar bills in my back pocket.".

If I tell the truth when I originally wrote that sentence I wrote $50 bucks instead of $100 bucks.  That felt natural, attainable and believable for me.  But something told me to put $100 instead and I then I suddenly became keenly aware of my feelings.  I suddenly felt tight and found myself holding my breath.  I  sat there for a minute trying to decide if I should put it back to $50. Then I stopped and listened to what my mind was saying and this is some of what I heard:

- "Don't put that... That's ridiculous."

- "Pleeeaase. $100 bucks?  You wish."

- "Put something that's realistic."

- "If only."

- "That sure would be nice but that probably isn't going to happen for me especially not anytime soon."

- "Me?  Carrying around $100 all the time just because I can?  It would certainly be nice but why don't I just tell the truth."

- "Me?  Carrying around $100 all the time?  C'mon .... me?"

- "That sure would be nice but it seems so far away that it's almost laughably unbelievable."

- "I wasn't meant to be a part of the richy-rich crowd."

- "Wishful thinking for sure!"

So... what's especially odd about that little instance is that I wrote that in the same post talking about how I could actually believe making $100,000 year... and how I could actually, for the first time, feel real feelings of how it would be to have that kind of a income with few to no but's and P.S's getting in the way.  However, within the same breath I found myself not able to believe carrying around $100 in my pocket.  Huh?   What's that about?!!

Here's my theory that I've been carrying around for awhile on this.  I believe that within all of our but's and P.S's there can be many layers.  Some deeper than others. We can hear the top layers loud and clear but the ones buried further down become harder and harder to hear.... the little voice becomes fainter and fainter.  The further down ones, although difficult to hear, are still in fact sending out a vibration.  Sometimes the layer is so deep that we don't even hear it at all.

So, sometimes as we work to remove our but's and P.S's around a particular limiting belief we find that once you've got one removed the next layer pops up to rear it's ugly head... and again we must do our work to remove the but's and P.S's from the newly exposed limiting belief.

My best friend's father and spiritual guru, Dennis Robillard, once gave this analogy that helps me picture this:  It's like those plate stacks at a cafeteria.  You take the one off the top and then the rest move up.

Or, if the onion anlagy works for you then use that one.  But the point is is that many times (most of the time) it's not just one single zig-zag line between us and our desires.  It's usually several or many zig-zag lines all stacked on one another between us and our desires.  Can you see how dense that line can become?  And, how difficult that makes it to be able to even clearly see our dreams much less believe them and feel them.  I'm tellin' ya... I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's a miracle that we ever manifest a thing!

So, what this little lesson reveals for me is that even though I was successfully able to remove a big layer/plate the next one popped up.  And, I believe too that some of our layers are certainly thicker than others.  I like to believe that our biggest and hardest ones are the ones at the top.  Those are the ones that are screamin' at us the loudest.

This little lesson also reminds me of a valuable lesson I learned some time ago about "How big is your basket?".   Are you walking around carrying a basket that can only hold $50 or is your basket so big that you have to use a trailer to haul the thing around?

We limit ourselves by the size of our baskets.  We'll be given no more than our basket can hold.  Is it time to trade in your little basket for a big ol' honkin' one?  They're free, afterall.  Pick any one you want and for goodness sake don't hold back and don't feel guilty for picking the biggest one they've got.  And, if you do have some guilty feelings when picking then it's time to work on removing some layers!!

And, if for any reason you find some plates in your basket... start taking 'em out!  If you don't remove them there's no place to put all that money!

Close Dream - Far Away Dream

Candle_flame An interesting thing happened over the past couple of days and I wanted to share my observations about it.  My apologies ahead of time if this post is a bunch of ramblings about personal self thoughts but I thought I should share this and perhaps in doing so I might learn something more about it and so might you.

If you've been reading along the last several months I have talked a lot about getting rid of your buts and your P.S's.  I've also talked a lot about the power of truly believing that your dreams/desires/aspirations can come true.

I swear I practice all there is to know about the laws of attraction and manifesting abundance and just when I think I have a really good handle on it something pops up to show me that I'm still lacking in certain areas.

So, here's what happened this week:  I was scouring the job boards looking for a job or new client in the event that one of my newest job prospects did not pan out as I had hoped.  I stumbled across a job posting for an e-Commerce Director and as I read the job description for the ideal candidate I began getting giddy with excitement.  This job description nailed me to a "T".  It might as well have said, "... and your name must be Darcy Hoag".  And, the coolest thing was that the salary it listed said it paid between $90,000-$110,000 a year.  Wow!  I could certainly live with that!!!

I quickly blasted off my resume and within a few hours I got a response back from the recruiter who wanted to set up an interview with me the very next day.  My initial interveiw with her was nothing short of fantastic.  She told me that she would be setting up an interview with the HR person of the company for the following day.

An interesting thing happened in those 24 hours in between interveiws.  I was glad to see that the but's and P.S's that would have used to come up didn't ...such as (just to give you an example of the old me):

There's no way you'd be hired making that kind of money.
For that kind of money surely you're totally underqualified.
What if you got hired and then couldn't handle the job?
They'll never hire you if they see that you're overweight.
Yadda. Yadda. Yadda.

... well I had a couple of but and P.S's but not the usual  sixty zillion that run twenty layers deep... but the best thing that happened was that this job was actually within the realm of possiblity for me.  I mean.. lil' ol' me could actually be bankrollin' $100,000 a year.  Wow!  My brain went into absolute manic visualization mode of what I would/could do with that kind of income.

I sat on the back porch that night for close to 3 hours just visualizing away.  I pictured all the things that I would buy for my house, paying my vehicle off and buying a new one paid in cash, I pictured my husband being able to stay at home and pursue his dreams, I pictured how I would carry $100 bucks on me instead of a wad of damp crumpled up dollar bills in my back pocket... and most of all I pictured me and my family being able to take a huge deep breath and just exhaling in relaxing comfort knowing that the struggle was finally over.  I imagined and truly felt how incredible the feeling of having such a heavy burden lifted felt.   Aaaaaaaaaaaahh... it felt soooooooo great!!  I felt the sweet  and beautiful freedom of finally being released from years of tight restraints.  I felt light and overwhelmed with a feeling of relaxed content and self-pride knowing that... I made it.

The feelings I experienced were so real and so intense... as if I had really and truly already achieved my dream of having a significant income.

Then, I noticed something...

If you're like me then you have probaby read/heard over and over that when you visualize your desires that you must believe/act such that you have already achieved it.  As a matter of fact, Edwene Gaines in her book, The Four Spiritual Laws of Prosperity states it this way:

"Act as if you have already achieved your goals.  Belive that you receive.  Acting with confidence and faith in yourself and your potential sends a powerful message to the universe.  Accept your success right now.  Don't wait until you have actually achieved results.  Act as if.  ...radiating confidence in your ability to achieve them [dreams] will catapult you forward in your journey."

I've heard this over and over again of how important it is to do this but I realized that I don't do this step.  Why???  Because until recently I never really honestly believed that I could obtain my biggest and wildest dreams.  Sure I could visualize what it would be like to obtain them and entertain fun thoughts about them but they were always accompanied by those sixty zillion but's and P.S's twenty layers deep.

So what made this particular experience of mine so different for me?  One is is that I've been really working on removing the but's and P.S's... and having all those but's and P.S's out of the way makes that line between me and my dreams sooooooooooo much shorter.... thus making my dream that much closer... so close that I could actually taste it... so close that it felt for REAL... so close that I could actually feel what it felt like to have already achieved it.

So... what this little lesson reveals for me is the power of truly believing that you can have any dream you desire but on top of that the power of truly acting as if...as if you've already achieved it can have on your vibrational field.

And the secret to be able to do that is removing all (or as many as possible) the but's and P.S's that cause all that interference between you and your desires... so that the distance between you and your desires is short, free and clear. Here's my graphic again illustrating this point just in case you forgot or haven't seen it before:

Desire_example_1

Desire_example_1a_1

So..... can you see how if you removed the but's and P.S's how much shorter the line is between you and your desires?   See how it makes it so much easier to really FEEL the reality of it having been achieved when it is so much closer to you than sooooo far away.

It's kind of like this analogy:

Imagine if you held your hand 6 feet above the flame of a candle...  Even though you can't feel it you believe it's there because you can see it.   But, if you were blindfolded and someone told you that you had your hand over a flame you might not believe them because not only could you not see the flame you could also not feel it.  But, the closer you get your hand to that flame you begin to feel it ... it's hot, it's hotter, it's burning, it's burning on fire!!  There's certainly no denying the fact that you can truly feel it and believe that there is in fact a flame!

Bear with me on this one... I know it's not making sense yet...

What I'm trying to illustrate is that sometimes our dreams seem so far away that as a result we can't actually feel them... sometimes there's so much interference in the way that we can't even hardly see them... which makes believing that they've already happened, much less really possible, absolutely impossible.

This was such a valuable lesson for me.  I truly truly see  what the power of believing that you have already achieved can have on manifestation.  I see even more so the significance of removing the but's and P.S's to give you the ability to be able to feel it and see it to the point of believability.

Bring your dreams close to you so you can feel them.

So.. by this point you may be wondering... did I get the job?

Nope.  But look at the invaluable lesson that I learned as a result... and boy what fun my brain had imagining all that great stuff I'd do with my $100,000!!!

If I Only Had A Brain

Thewizardofoz I just stumbled across this article by Dave Cole of ChooseToProsper and I thought it was such a great little lesson, example and analogy of self-limiting beliefs.

If I Only Had A Brain...

In the 1939 classic movie, The Wizard of Oz, we pick up the story as Dorothy Gale comes to a cross roads in the Yellow Brick Road.

Hanging upon a pole is a scarecrow, and a talking scarecrow nonetheless.

As the Scarecrow and Dorothy get to know each other, the Scarecrow goes into a song titled, "If I Only Had A Brain."

Oh, what wonderful things the Scarecrow could do......If He Only Had........

Now let's think about this for a minute. Here we have a talking scarecrow, and if you will notice, throughout the movie, the Scarecrow seems to be the one making a good many of the wise decisions for Dorothy and her band of travelers.

But sometime in his past, he had been "programmed" by the Munchkin farmer to believe the Scarecrow was so dumb, he couldn't even scare crows away.

Near the movies end, the Wizard of Oz presents the Scarecrow with a diploma. Immediately the
Scarecrow spouts off some incredible mathematical formula proving to Dorothy and his friends, that he now has a brain.

While we know that a piece of paper with some fancy writing on it does not automatically give us any kind of intelligence, what really did happen was that the Scarecrow now - BELIEVED - he had a brain.

He had a voice of authority tell him so!

All the old programming from the   Munchkin farmer was no longer effective.

The Scarecrow had now transcended his - OLD IMAGE OF HIMSELF - and discovered what was already there. He just hadn't realized how very intelligent he really...... really was to begin with.

Now on the first day of this new year, I'm asking you to discover something about yourself. What Image have you painted for yourself?

  Who are you really?

Is what you have become......who you really want yourself to be?

Do you go around singing, "If I Only"........

  Had the money
  Had the time
  Was younger
  Was older
  Knew more people
  Had more experience
  Was smarter
Had more people to like me
  Didn't have obligations

You fill in the blanks.

What have you programmed yourself to believe about yourself?

You see, the Scarecrow - Wanted So Badly - to have a brain, but - All Along - he had the intelligence - In Him - to begin with.

He finally became intelligent, when he Stopped Wanting.....and   Started Believing He Was Intelligent!

The secret is not in Want-ing! The secret is in BE-ing!!

One of the great commercials on TV says it all, "BE All That You Can Be."

Is it time in your life to stop want-ing and start BE-ing the person you really want to be?

Just as the Scarecrow, You already have whatever you need to become that person inside yourself. Have you been Programmed sometime in your past to believe you are not worthy of being that new person?

Are you, like the Scarecrow, operating under false assumptions?

If so, simply re-program yourself and like the Scarecrow quit singing "If I Only"..... and start SEEING yourself as the person you want to BE!

The solution to all the Scarecrow's wants was there all the time, but wanting it didn't make it happen, and wanting it will not make it happen for you either.

Upon presentation of a piece of paper, the Scarecrow - Chose To Be - intelligent. All the old programming was washed from his consciousness and he now went from want-ing .....to BE-ing.

Prosperity Is A Choice!

Choose prosperity for yourself. Release those old images of yourself. BE the kind of person you want to be.

The hidden success secret is discovered by each of us in that moment when we realize that ....... We already have the power within us to choose a different reality.
