I have had my head absolutely buried in the Ask and It Is Given book by Esther and Jerry Hicks. I just can't help but ramble on about this book. As I mentioned in a previous post, I discovered that this book has been the missing link for me. The book is broken into two parts. Part I really explains everything and then Part II is filled with techniques to practice...22 of them to be exact (I like how Abraham refers to them as games).
I have only read the first 5 techniques so far and WOW!!! I have been practicing them and really being conscious for the first time of my thinking and how it is affecting what I am receiving (or not receiving). All I have to say is that totally miraculous things have been happening. Between Jeff and myslef we've had close to $8,000 fall into our laps out of nowhere in less than a week. Coincidence or fact???? I'm wanting to lean on the side that this !@#$ really works!
Before I started reading the book I was wondering how we were going to pay the rent this month. I began reading the book and started practicing the techniques and 'playing the games' and lo and behold a check out of nowhere for about $1200 showed up... exactly enough to cover the rent! We even paid it early - what an incredible feeling that was! Whew! I was still worrying about my truck payment though but I still kept practicing and playing... and would you believe it.... Jeff called me and said, "You're not going to believe it... you just got a check in the mail for almost $1000!!".
I was in the kitchenware department at Foley's when he called. I shrieked so loud and busted out laughing hystarically... every head in the store turned. The funny thing of it was.... the reason I shrieked was because I was so happy to have the truck payment made.... it wasn't because I was surprised that I got the money. It was if it was no surprise.... I knew exactly why that money came... that's why I started laughing. For me it was the PROOF that I needed that this stuff really does work.
I've got dozens of these little stories like this that I've experienced over the years but this one was the icing on the cake. It was as if God was winking at me and saying, "See? I told you so.... and you were beginning to doubt me".
Here are the first 5 techniques/games from the book that I have been practicing... this is the Cliff Notes version... you'll have to run out and buy the book for the more detailed descriptions:
1.) Rampage fo Appreciation
This is the art of practicing simple abundance. Look around and acknowledge everything you love. For example, I began looking around my room after I first read this technique and acknowledged absolutely postively everything that I loved about my room. I love my bed (and boy do I.. I seriously manifested that sucker)... I love all the matching furniture, I love the candle sticks on my armoir, I love the shelves on the wall the hold the pictures that I love, I love the carpet, I love my brown suede down-filled comforter, I love my ceiling fan, I love my little TV on the dresser that Jeff and I love to watch together while we snuggle in bed, I love my mattress....
Then I let my mind go beyond my room and I layed there for literally two hours just thinking of all the little tiny things that I'm surrounded with that I love. And ya know... an interesting thing started happening.... my body literally began feeling like it was buzzing. And interestingly... as I'm typing this.... I can feel my fingers starting to buzz!
The next day I woke up and I have to say I've never felt better in my life! I got in my car later that day and did the same thing all the way to where I was going and I literally felt like I was on a cloud! I just felt so freakin' happy I could hardly stand myself!!!
2.) The Magical Creation Box
Make a box and write on the top "Whatever is in the box is." Then cut out pictures in magazines off all the things that you desire and put them in the box.
I have been doing this techinique for some time but I have been doing it a little bit differently. I paste pictures of the things a desire into a spiral and I write notes and thoughts around them. I like to be able to look at the pictures all the time to keep them in the forefront of my mind. This technique really works too! It's neat to look back at all the stuff that's come to be. My bed was one of those!
Interestingly... this box-is thing brought up some really negative feelings for me but I turned that around into something totally healing and incredible.
I have been working on some major forgiveness issues around someone that I thought was a friend that utimately really hurt me and my business. Very interestingly she created a product called Box-is. Different than the concept I'm talking about here but similar in a way. Anyway... I had been feeling so wonderful and happy and then all of the sudden when I thought about box-is and 'her' I had all these yucky negative anger feelings. So, I decided to play my Rampage of Appreciation game.
I thought of all the things that I really loved about her. Then I thought about what it was that I loved about what she did that hurt me so deeply. I know that's weird to look at it that way but it made realize that I was actually very thankful for the things that have happened as a result of 'what she did to me'. I love how my ideas really did come to life even if they didn't happen as a result of my hand.... they really did come to be and I imagine that they have helped a lot of women. I love that I am a stronger, better person as the result of what happened. I love that I have grown lightyears from the person I was when I met her... and so on...
I continued 'playing this game' with every person that I have harbored anger feelings towards and I cannot tell you how theraputic it has been!!
3.) The Creative Workshop
Pick 4 areas of your life that you want to focus on and the write 'fee good' because statements.
For example: I want to deepen my relationship with Jeff and Landen by playing together as a couple and as a family...
... because it will create strong bonds through shared memories
....because we will have fun playing together
....because it will make us laugh
....becuase Landen will have wonderful childhood memories
and so on...
4.) Virtual Reality
Simply put... this is just doing some feel good day dreaming. Spend some time imagining yourself in your favorite spot doing whatever it is you love. Imagine every teeny tiny detail that brings you joy....like imagining feeling the warmth of the sand covering your bare feet.... the warm evening breeze blowing through your hair....
I really love this one... and really really feeling the feelings of the things like the warmth and seeing the colors and the smiles and the feeling the air and the wind...
5.) The Prosperity Game
I love this one! This one really works on your ability to allow. The book suggests that you get an old check register, a notebook or even an accounting program (I haven't looked yet but I bet there is a free trial version of some accounting program like QuickBooks on the web).
What you do is on the first day you deposit $1000 into your play account. Then you must spend $1000 from your play account on anything you want. Write pretend checks or use slips of paper. Day 2 deposit $2000 and spend $2000 on whatever you want. Day 3 deposit $3000 and then spend $3000 dollars. How cool is that?!!! I believe the book said that if you did this game every day for a year you'd have spent $66 million dollars!
I need to go find a free little computer accouting program. I've been playing it mentally and it is soooooooooo much fun!!! It is absolutely amazing the effect that it has on you mentally! It truly works on your ability to allow... which seems to be quite difficult for a lot of us.
Anyway... I just have to say... I can hardly believe all the fantabulous things that have been happening since I started employing these techniques. There has definitely been a very remarkable difference that is transforming in my life and within my family. Jeff had no idea that I was doing these little techniques and he commented the other day on what an incredible feeling is buzzing around our home and our family.
As I continue to go through the 22 techniques and games in the book I'll share them here with my comments and thoughts.
Here's to looking forward to lots of happy days ahead!!
Do you have or use any other techniques (or games) to help you in the process of ridding yourself of prosperity issues or help you to manifest abundance?
